IONOS RED

Ionos is short for kalos ionos, or «good omen». Clean bouquet of red fruit and jam. Balanced flavour with velvety tannins that render structure and nerve. Pleasant, fruity finish.

Terroir:

This wine comes from selected parcels in high-lying vineyards of Peloponnese, making the wine fresh and lively - a piece of mountain Greek summer that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Situated in the sub-mountainous zones of Peloponnese peninsula in southern Greece, the selected vineyards are at around 350 to 700 metres above sea level, and have sandy soils with some clay and gravel.

Vinification:

The grapes are carefully harvested at Mid-late September. Classic red wine vinification with approx. 6-8 day extraction under controlled conditions followed by malolactic fermentation. Ionos is unoaked to retain grape character and gentle freshness.

Serving suggestion and food pairing: Ideal for every day, versatile with food. Serve at 15°C with grilled foods, pasta with red sauces, home cooked casseroles and wood oven pizzas.
